RECYCLING AND WASTE MANAGEMENT
Ink and process residue
Inks are measured and mixed for each specific project. This reduces ink waste. Any waste ink is re-mixed and re-formulated for use in other projects or recycled.
Computer-To-Plate
100% Computer-To-Plate technology, which uses no film, and generates none of the waste associated with film processing is the standard at 3S Printers.
Paper and paper products
We recycle all paper waste in our production cycle. This includes: trimmings from paper cutters both pre and post press, and production waste from bindery operations. Office paper products are collected and included into our recycling program. We use recycled / FSC certified papers for our own consumption and marketing programs.
Wood
All wood pallets and crating off-cuts are shipped to a recycler to be chipped up and used in pulp manufacturing.
Plastics
All plastic containers and packaging shrink wrap are stockpiled and sent to outside sources for recycling.
Metals
Metal printing plates, steel pallet strapping, and other metal materials are assembled and purchased by appropriate vendors and recycled accordingly. Metal drums are returned to the supplier and refilled or recycled.
